Maia Jacobs is a recent graduate from our lab but is continuing her work with us as a Research Scientist. Her PhD research examined how technology can provide users with the means to better cope with significant life changes. Specifically, she studies life changes in the context of breast cancer, exploring how mobile technology can support breast cancer patients as they move through the cancer journey, adapting to patients' changing needs, goals and priorities. She is currently a Post-doc at Harvard where she is extending her work into new domains. She holds a B.S. in Industrial Engineering from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She also worked as a User Experience Specialist for Accenture. Her research areas include human-computer interaction (HCI), ubiquitous computing, and computer supported cooperative work (CSCW).
